JOB SUMMARY

 

The primary function of the position is to monitor Proactive Routings in Apex system queue and perform all air and ground routings based on requested service level for specified lane segments, accounts or regions in support of customer order shipment requests

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

 

 

  • Ensure all freight routings are routed at the lowest possible cost and utilize carrier/agent consolidations available.
  • Coordinate carrier/agent pickup and delivery requirements, shipment booking, and system notifications and ensure accurate communication of special handling requirements specific to equipment/hazmat, packing, COD, etc., to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Complete follow up with carrier/agent to ensure completion of routing as scheduled.  
  • Proactively monitor “hot items,” perform routing expedite as required and ensure carrier/agent services are provided as service level requested.
  • Maintain operating reports, files and process standards for management review.
  • Professionally and efficiently maintain freight documentation, routing packets and information support to dock distribution and PDG transportation. 
  • Verifies data accuracy to ensure ‘Everybody Wins,’ both internal operations, sales, administration and customer accounts.
  • Assist carrier/agent in handling freight inquiries of traffic, outbound/inbound bookings, pickup and delivery orders to ensure on-time delivery and 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Provide timely routing support resolve of service issues and/or requirements to ensure CSR continuously provide service to customer’s satisfaction. 
  • Process customer freight routings scheduled for daily movements and insure no incomplete or late routings.
  • Accurately document all freight routing within the Pegasus database, to insure real-time online availability of shipment information utilizing tracking status. 
  • Proactively notify the CSR, Pegasus Sales Team and all affected parties in the event of a service issue.
  • Partner with the operations and PDG group to ensure all freight routings are being updated accurately and timely.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested, i.e. reports, file record maintenance, etc.
  • Participate in cross training and continuous skills development.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS

 

High School Diploma or Equivalent
1+ years Experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledgeable of freight operating system
  • 1-2 Years of Freight Routing, Rating & Tracking experience
  • Data Entry skills a must
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Maintain schedule and attendance commitment
  • May require working a non-standard work week
